The other day

We've been waiting out Hurricane Sandy by doing small items on the boat and visiting the local area.  The other day Ken and Irene took us to the Jefferson Patterson Park and Museum.

If you select the Pattersons it will take you to the history of this family.  Irene had made an appointment for us to get the tour of their country home at the park.  We spent three hours learning about the Pattersons and their influence on world affairs.

This property was also the site of a very important battle during the War of 1812.  Select the 1812 icon and it will explain the significance.  There are also many other activities going on at the park which would take several days to explore, we may have more time later this week.

MaryLou and I have made extra chaffe protection for our lines in the event that Hurricane Sandy blows into the Chesapeake.  Here are some of the finished lines.

We also changed out the bent traveler parts we were able to find and have delivered to this marina.

As you can see the old parts were quite bent.  Well Captain Mike promissed us sour dough pancakes this morning so we're dining on Our Little Cape.  We also headed to Walmart for some preweather shopping, there was plenty of TP, batteries, and water on the shelves.

There were some of us that are unafraid of the weather.  Here are a few local ducks.
